Fuelled by the success of Roxanne, it reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 23 on the Billboard 200. The album produced two more hit singles: Can’t Stand Losing You and So Lonely. While initially receiving mixed reviews, it is now recognized as a strong debut. Rolling Stone ranks it 38th among all-time debut albums and 428th among the greatest albums of all time.
