X’s is the third studio album by American ambient pop band Cigarettes After Sex, released on July 12, 2024, through Partisan Records. The album was preceded by three singles: Tejano Blue, Dark Vacay, and Baby Blue Movie and received generally favourable reviews from critics.
Following their 2019 album Cry, the band released several singles recorded during the sessions for their self-titled album. They announced X’s on February 28, 2024. Lead musician Greg Gonzalez described the album as “brutal,” reflecting his need to deeply explore and express the emotional impact of a four-year relationship’s end, rather than just discussing it superficially. Gonzalez aimed to truly learn from and relive the experience through his music.
