PJ Harvey – White Chalk

Released on September 24, 2007, via Island Records, “White Chalk” is PJ Harvey’s seventh studio album. Collaborating with producers Flood and John Parish, who previously worked on her albums “To Bring You My Love” and “Is This Desire?,” Harvey also collaborated with Eric Drew Feldman and Jim White from Dirty Three during the album’s 2006 inception.

White Chalk earned critical acclaim with a Metacritic score of 80/100. Uncut praised it as a work of “lonely beauty and piercing sorrow,” highlighting PJ Harvey’s prowess, while The Observer awarded it a perfect 5-star rating. Robert Christgau spotlighted “When Under Ether” as a standout track. Somewhere Cold named it CD of the Year for 2007 in their Hall of Fame Awards.
